What a sweetie!

img_1075With Christmas on the horizon, our November meeting gave us a timely opportunity to learn the art of simple sweet-making from the multi-talented and ever-popular Jane Mills.

When she isn’t taking care of C.F.W.I.’s money as County Treasurer, or dealing with the chaos of a kitchen in a state of semi-refurbishment, she is able to whip up the most delicious concoctions from simple ingredients and with almost no cooking – just a bit of chocolate melting.

Jane showed us how to make, with little effort, coconut ices, cranberry jellies, chocolate-covered cherry and almond paste balls, white chocolate and nut logs and simple mini chocolate brownies – all in about 40 minutes! If we can only resist eating them all ourselves, they make excellent Christmas presents (with the aid of a few empty Christmas card boxes).
