Gadding round Glendurgan

Our visit to Glendurgan gardens on Thursday, 30th August began with a delicious lunch at Ann Miller’s lovely Ashton home with its view across the garden and fields to a glittering Mount’s Bay: we have now decided that all future days out will start with lunch at Ann’s!

At Glendurgan, the sun shone (sometimes) and even a surprisingly gusty wind could not spoil our leisurely stroll among towering gunnera and bamboo, past the famous maze down to the Helford River. On the way back uphill, we included a quick visit to the swinging Giant’s Stride – but no photographs are available to illustrate the feats of daring undertaken there! All in all, a gorgeous afternoon rounded off with a mug of tea in the Glendurgan cafe.
